Alajuela – Central Valley

Alajuela is in the Central Valley. It is easily accessible since it has enough bus routes constantly entering and leaving Alajuela. Its surroundings are an outstanding cattle trade center and sugar industries. Alajuela is considered a fantastic summer area due to its fabulous climate which remains warm throughout the year.

Osa Península – South Pacific Side

The Osa Península is known as one of the most fabled and most remote destinations in Costa Rica. The long stretches of pristine white sand are set against shimmering, turquoise waters. Many of the wildlife species found here are unique to this area. In fact, the Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica is one of the most important areas because of the existence of extraordinary biodiversity of the wildlife and plant life. It is home to over 400 species of birds alone with hundreds of types of exotic mammals.  No wonder that National Geographic declared Osa Peninsula as one the most diverse and wild places on the planet.

Superior Rooms are spacious units with private balcony overlooking the pool, gardens, and two queen beds sized beds.

Luna Lodge Eco Resort

Luna Lodge is situated in the southern part of Costa Rica, a secluded eco-wellness lodge, situated on 60 acres of primary and secondary rainforest, on the pristine and captivating Osa Peninsula in Carate near Corcovado National Park.  The lodge is amid the tropical rainforest, nestled hide among the trees.

Secluded in a beautiful garden alongside the main lodge rests a natural rock-encrested pool perfect for sunbathing, cooling off from a vigorous tour, or just sitting and enjoying the surrounding rainforest.

The spacious deck is ideal for birdwatching, stargazing, or just absorbing the energy of the rainforest. Comfortable rocking chairs and hammocks line the perimeter of the main lodge.

Bungalows

Six of the bungalows feature two double beds, a private deck, and a private bathroom with shower and bathtub. Large windows and a high-beamed roof provide for ample air circulation, while walls of bamboo add a decorative rustic touch.

One of the attractive and unique parts of the bungalow is the lush private garden just off the shower, smoothing the transition to the rainforest outside, yet keeping it all protected with a handcrafted stone wall.

Bosque del Cabo Rainforest Lodge

Bosque del Cabo is located approximately 200 miles from San Jose, at the very tip of the Osa Peninsula. It’s groomed nature trails lead to deserted beaches on both the Golfo Dulce and Pacific Ocean.

There is a large gulf between the peninsula and the mainland, called the Golfo Dulce (“sweet gulf”). The largest town on the Osa Peninsula is Puerto Jimenez. Across the gulf from Jimenez is the port town of Golfito.

Deluxe Cabin- Bungalow

Bosque del Cabo offers 8 deluxe bungalows.  These bungalows are all built in the same tropical style, but each is a little different with its own unique features; all are lovely and have wonderful ocean views.  The bungalows are either tropical hardwood and thatched-roof construction, or stucco and tile construction, or a combination of both styles.  All of our deluxes feature king-sized beds, larger bathrooms with dressing area, expanded outdoor garden showers, hammocks and easy chairs for lounging, and wraparound porches which step down into observation decks.

Deluxe Bungalow

Deluxe bungalows are spacious, and  are open-air with screens – uniquely designed to give you an incredible indoor-outdoor experience. You’ll find harmony in this undisturbed environment, sunrise views, and an appreciation for the sounds, sights, and smells of the Rainforest.

Itinerary

Welcome to Costa Rica!

After passing through migration and customs, you can meet your Costa Rica Travel Adventures English Speaking Guide and your Spanish Driver.  The guide will be holding a sign with your name on it. Transfer to your hotel afterwards; transfer time is approximately 10 minutes.

Early morning, transfer provided by Trapp Country Inn to the international airport where you will be boarding an approximately 5o-minute Sansa domestic flight to the town of Puerto Jiménez.
You will continue your journey by  private ground air-conditioned taxi to Carate (2 ½ hours approximately). Bumpy road, but full of beautiful countrysides!

Full day to enjoy and explore the area and sorroundings. During your stay the following activity is scheduled.

Corcovado National Park -Private Tour

Half-hour beach walk from Carate brings you to the Corcovado National Park entrance. Hike with your guide through tropical lowland rainforest to the beautiful Madrigal River. Learn about the flora and fauna.

Take a dip in the river and meander down the river to arrive at the beach. Leisurely walk back to Carate along the beach or duck back onto the rainforest trail.

Round-trip transport to the beach in Carate,  park entrance fee, and a picnic lunch is included with this tour.

After breakfast, private ground taxi transfer from Carate-Luna Lodge to Cabo Matapalo- Bosque del Cabo (1 hour-30 minutes’ drive approx).

Full day to enjoy and explore the area and sorroundings.
During your stay the following activity is scheduled: Dolphin Watch Tour- Private.

A knowledgeable local guide will take you on a 3-3½ hour boat tour of the gulf. You will see areas of interest along the coast of the gulf and near the mangroves close to Puerto Jimenez.

This tour is centered around finding and perhaps swimming close to pods of dolphin (the most seen are spinner, spotted, bottle-nosed, and striped dolphins).

Usually, your guide can find these gentle and beautiful creatures without too much.  This experience will be one that you will never forget! Sometimes, if you are lucky, your boat may even come across docile whale sharks, or even whales.

This trip is great for families or anyone that enjoys a day on the water and seeing the amazing marine life we are so lucky to have in our stunning gulf.

Early morning transfer to the international airport where you will board your Sansa domestic flight to Puerto Jiménez. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, private taxi transfer to Carate, Luna Lodge (2 ½ hours approximately).

Full day to enjoy and explore the area and sorroundings. There are about 10 On-Property activities waiting for your selection (Osa Trail, Plant a Tree, Wild Waterfalls, Night Walk, Birdwatching among others)

Mid-morning ground taxi transfer back to the town of Puerto Jiménez; 30 minutes drive approx.  Here you’ll board an approximately 50-minute Sansa domestic flight back to San José. Upon arrival, transfer by a representative from Trapp Family to the hotel.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Your Transfer Guide and Spanish Speaking driver will be on time to get you to  Juan Santamaría International Airport; 3 hours before your scheduled departure flight for check in purposes.

  • When the service of a guide is listed (LG) (SG) He - She will accompany you from A to B. They will meet and greet you on arrival at the International Airport, accompany you on some legs of your trip and then meet you again for your departure transfer. They are all Costa Rican and are happy to share their insight with you.
  • Porterage: When the tour includes international airport transfers, the handling of two bags per person is included.
