Arenal Volcano National Park

The Park is located in the central part of the country. It is one of the greatest holiday destinations for any nature lover and this mountainous, forested land has an incredible range of biodiversity. Arenal is a place you cannot ignore.  This beautiful park is home to two incredible volcanoes, as well as a variety of plant and animal species, so nature lovers are guaranteed to find an idyllic eco-tourist experience. This national park is a fundamental piece of Costa Rica’s wonder.

Andaz Peninsula Papagayo

The extra-large bathroom includes soaking tub and separate oversized walk-in rain shower, and an additional half bathroom adjoins the living room.

The Springs Resort & Spa

Located on a high mountain ridge the resort allows for an eye-level view of the entire volcano (from base to top) along with the surrounding mountains and the valley below. The hotel offers eighteen free form landscaped pools with temperatures between 76˚F and 103˚F ranging from raging waterfalls to tranquil forest creek experiences. The Resort also features a fourteen thousand square foot full-service Spa. The hotel features 4 restaurants and 5 bars including a gourmet buffet restaurant, sushi bar and grill. Hot climate.

Alta Vista

The Alta Vista Guest Room has 1 King bed. Up to two rolls always may be added to accommodate families. Includes a private terrace with balcony, hammocks, rocking chairs, central air conditioning, a marbled bathroom with Jacuzzi tubs and multiple head showers, satellite television with flat screen TV’s, surround sound stereo with CD/DVD Player, telephone, wireless internet access, wet bar, safe, mini-bar refrigerator and coffee maker.

Itinerary

After passing through migration and customs, you can meet your Costa Rica Travel Adventures English Speaking Guide and your Spanish Driver with a sign with your name on it.  They will take you to your resort. (Approximate 45 minutes transfer).

Meet your Snorkeling Guide and crew at Deep Blue Diving Adventures.  Drive Coco Beach or surrounding properties at Papagayo area.

You can find some species such as sergeant major, parrot fish, damsel fish, box fish. Occasionally, a turtle or reef sharks are part of the marine life spotted. During the returning trip, some extra sightseeing is done in the area.

Your captain will always supervise the snorkeling activities from the boat for safety reasons. There're no Scuba Divers mixed with the snorkelers in this trip.

Duration: 3 – 4 hours

Includes: Transportation, snorkeling Guide, boat, crew, snorkeling gear, fruits &amp; water.

<strong>Note</strong><strong>: </strong>Snorkelers must weigh at least 14 kilos (30 pounds).

Extra flotation devices need to be requested separately and may have extra cost.

What to bring for your snorkeling tour: Bathing suit, sunscreen, shades, hat or cap, towel, sandals, and underwater camera (optional).

Activity included: Witch´s Rock Canopy Zip Line (Private)

Meet your driver at the lobby in your hotel and ride a motor vehicle for a few kilometers to the Canopy Ride. Witch’s Rock Canopy Tour is made up of 23 platforms.

During the rainy season, there are views of a waterfall and year-round views of the Pacific Ocean. The tour lasts 1 ½ hour approximately.

What to bring for your canopy tour: Close-toed shoes, sunblock, insect repellent, water (not to carry during the zip line activity), and a small camera. Please consider: Your camera or smart phone could be damaged or lost during the cables experience since you always use gloves!

Includes: adventure bilingual guide and entrance fee, transportation from some hotels in Papagayo (Andaz, Four Seasons)

Rio Corobici Floating

Your morning departure for the approximate 2 ½ hours to the Corobicí River, on the way to the Arenal Volcano region.

Meet your guide and drive to the site where you embark on this rafting trip. The Corobici River offers a tranquil floating trip with Class I and II rapids that will satisfy any nature lover and soft adventurer. The tropical dry forest offers good chances to observe many species of birds and mammals.

This trip is recommended for families with young children or folks who are just looking to relax on the river while enjoying the forest and scenery.  Rio Corobici in Guanacaste is one of Costa Rica´s most picturesque landscapes.

<strong>Duration:</strong> 3 hours

<strong>Includes:</strong> Rafting guides, transportation, a snack of fresh fruit cookies, and juice.

What to bring for your Rio Corobi Floating: swimsuit, insect repellent, sun protection, cap or hat, sandals or tennis shoes, camera

Arrival in Arenal at dusk.

The Arenal Volcano National Park is located within the much larger Arenal Conservation. Within the national park, short trails pass through the secondary forests as well as lava fields from previous eruptions.

Hanging Bridges and Waterfall Walk (Private)<strong><u>
</u></strong>

Meet your Nature Guide and driver at your hotel and drive for a few minutes to Mistico Hanging Bridges. Once at this wonderful site, walk the trails that connect several hanging bridges over the lush rainforest of Arenal.

You can see good views of the volcano, as well as majestic trees, flowers, birds, and mammals along the path. Enjoy the fresh mist from the pristine waters of Fortuna River, and – if you feel like it – take a dip in the cool ponds. Soon you must start your climb to the top of the ravine, and of course the same number of steps up to the parking area. The vehicle awaits to take you to the designated place for lunch.

After a few minutes from the waterfalls, you arrive to the “Vida Campesina” farm. Have the chance to try a sample of the best local typical food, based on several crops also found at the farm. They offer short trails to explore sugar cane, vegetables, and some farm animals! Once you finish lunch, you may take a few minutes to explore the farm. Get ready to return to your lodge.

<strong>Important Note</strong><strong>:</strong> there are NO facilities to change clothing at the waterfall. You can wear a swimsuit underneath your clothes.

<strong>Duration</strong><strong>:</strong> 6 – 7 hours.

What to bring for your Hanging Bridges and Waterfall Walk tour: hiking-walking shoes, extra clothing, backpack (suggested), rain gear, insect repellent, swimsuit (optional), water shoes (optional), sunscreen lotion, camera, hat or cap, personal bottle of water.

<strong>Notes:</strong> Minimum age 5 years, a moderate physical condition required, and no fear of heights. Groups on the regular tour can be as large as 40 participants, with one adventure guide for every 3 or 4 guests maximum.

Pure Trek Waterfall Rappel (Private Transport & Shared Tour)

Meet your Driver and Guide at the lobby of your hotel to the Pure Trek site on the mountains near the Town of La Fortuna.

Drive to the first ranch house where they put your gear on, give you a short safety and rappelling explanation, and then a short trek on a rainforest trail to the first waterfall rappel where you will descend into the canyon. After rappelling down the first waterfall you will climb up the side of the canyon wall. Then zip line across the canyon and rappel down from the cable 25 m (82 ft) to the canyon floor again.

You´ll continue short trails from waterfall to waterfall through the canyon. Later, you´ll take a short trek out of the canyon to the second ranch house where you meet up with the 4x4 vehicles and then back to the base offices for a delicious Costa Rican style lunch just outside La Fortuna with a view of the Arenal Volcano. Pure Trek offers suitable installations with changing rooms, towels, and hot showers.

<strong>Duration:</strong> 4.5 - 5 hours including transfer time. Departure: 07:00 am & 12:00 noon.

<strong>Includes:</strong> Adventure Guide trained with the American Canyoneering Association as well as Wilderness First Aid and CPR, private transport, photographer and gear, <u>lunch.</u>

<strong>What to bring for your rappelling tour:</strong> Close-toed shoes or sturdy water shoes, light “fast dry” clothe, swimsuit & towel, sunscreen lotion, insect repellent, cap, change of clothing (recommended), waterproof camera, or “go pro camera” recommended (dry bags are supplied).

Meet your Spanish Driver for the approximate 3 ½ hours’ drive to the Liberia Airport.In Costa Rica airlines require that you arrive 3 hours in advance for check-in purposes.
