Overview

This itinerary will show you the best way to relax and experience being in the jungle and have the best experience of your life.

You’ll be scouting a wide range of forests, each one with its own qualities and attractions: Cloud Forest, Rain Forest, and Dry Forest. Few tours are involved for you to have a better chance to take this adventure at your own rhythm.

Starting 1 night at San Jose downtown, 2 nights at Tortuguero, 2 nights Bajos de Toro, 2 nights at Arenal, ending up with 3 nights at Nosara Beah, Guanacaste Province. 10 Nights Total.

San José

San José is the capital, and it is in the Central Valley. The city offers many options for hotel accommodations and has several historic buildings such as the Melico Salazar Theater, National Museum, Metal Building, Children’s Museum, Costa Rican Art and Design Museum, Museum of Jade (recently renovated).

Tortuguero National Park

Tortuguero National Park is a protected wilderness area on Costa Rica’s northern Caribbean coast.

Its beaches are famous nesting grounds for sea turtles, including endangered green turtles. The park’s freshwater creeks and lagoons, which can be navigated.  You can find more than 320 species of birds including all six species of kingfishers found in the new world, three species of toucans, eight species of parrots, and other neotropical species such as the Slaty-tailed Trogon, White-collared Manakin and the Purple-throated Fruit crow.
The marked trail along the beach is used mostly for observing turtle nesting. Turtle Nesting Seanson is from mid -July to September.

Bajos del Toro Amarillo

Bajos del Toro Amarillo is cultural heritage site, located between volcanoes, nestled in tropical rainforest surroundings, characterized by valleys, waterfalls wet & rainy climate. Bajos del Toro is a farming area, so cows and crop fields are seen along the way. It’s one of the places in the country that is really a must visit attraction.

Arenal Volcano National Park

Its flora and fauna are abundant and very peaceful along with the ethos of nature. Truly a unique panoramic view!

The Arenal volcano is currently dormant but still a magnificent sight to behold and one of the most popular destinations because of the numerous tours and activities available. You can enjoy the amazing natural thermal hot springs at spas, resorts, and water parks. The Arenal Volcano will amaze you!

Nosara Beach, Guanacaste Province

Nosara beach is the least crowded of all Nosara’s beaches. Located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica in the Guanacaste region, the traditional village of Nosara sits six kilometers inland, and it’s characterized by its peaks and shallow rock reef lefts

Hotel Grano de Oro

Hotel Grano de Oro is situated on a shady street just off Paseo Colon, near Sabana Park in downtown San José. All rooms are equipped with free Internet, fully equipped mini bars, safety deposit boxes, flat screen TV with cable, ceiling fans, and telephones with direct access to international calling.

A rooftop garden terrace with lawn beds and 2 Jacuzzis provides secluded lounging from 9am to 10pm. Additional services include laundry and dry cleaning, luggage storage, currency exchange, massages, fax and mail service and secure parking are available. Deluxe Room

A free-standing private casita includes a secluded garden with an outdoor shower. Averaging 79.5sqm / 856sqft.

Hotel Harmony

This property has a simple elegance that results very soothing, the perfect place for a conscious practice. It has open air yoga studio in the healing center with no walls and no mirrors, surrounded by verdant jungle and a lily-filled pond. Silence is broken only by the ocean sounds and an occasional bird or playful monkey. The studio is open to the public for group classes with many options every day. Once a week they have a community class in Spanish in case you want to practice your Spanish skills. There are also private classes from 1 to 10 people, workshops, and retreats. The private session is customized to your needs with analysis of your practice, and the introduction of new techniques. Breathwork, assisted stretching and hands-on therapeutic massage will be integrated.

Bungalow

One-bedroom bungalows are situated throughout the property, nestled into our lush native plant gardens. Each bungalow has a private outdoor deck or patio with a shower, hammock, and seating area. In addition to a king-sized bed, bungalows also have a comfortable day bed for lounging and sleeping, so these rooms can accommodate up to 3 people comfortably. Bathroom amenities feature Red Flower shampoo, conditioner and body wash made with sustainably sourced, biodegradable ingredients.

Early morning pick up by your transfer Guide at Hotel Grano de Oro (6<strong>:</strong>00am approx.) Private transfer to the airport where you will board a 25 -minute flight to Tortuguero National Park.

The Park: Originally intended to protect a major nesting beach of the Atlantic Green Sea Turtle. Eleven habitats are found in the park. Three species of monkeys, with more than 320 species of birds including all six species of kingfishers found in the new world, three species of toucans, eight species of parrots, and other neotropical species such as the Slaty-tailed Trogon, White-collared Manakin and the Purple-throated Fruit crow.

Leave early morning the lodge by boat (shared with other guests) with your naturalist guide to explore the creeks of the National Park or join one of the available experiences included in your program which can take you deeper into the rainforest or to the nearby town.

Return to the lodge in time for lunch.

In the afternoon journey back through time and glimpse the fascinating history and culture of Tortuguero Village, first known as Turtle Bogue or treat yourself to the only birds-eye view of the majestic Caribbean lowlands on a two-hour intermediate-level hike up Cerro Tortuguero. Return to the lodge by boat.

After breakfast, 3-minute river boat crossing to Tortuguero airport where you will board a 25 -minute flight back to San José.  Upon arrival, your private driver will transfer you to Bajos del Toro Amarillo. Length of the transfer is approximately 2 hours.

Day to enjoy and explore the area and surroundings. Mystic Hike, onsite complementary tour.

A time for intention and meditation. The perfect chance to experience the cloud forest from a different and holistic perspective. Take an in-spired walk through a magical knot garden, hidden paths that embrace nature’s elements and our delightful hummingbird garden. You’ll be led by an Eco-concierge through a short yet inspiring walk through the four-element trail as it focuses on consciousness, and happiness.

Mid morning private ground transfer  with Spanish Speaking Driver to the area of La Fortuna, Arenal. Driving time would take 2 hours approximately.

After breakfast, 3-hour adventure, kayaking across the waters of the Arenal Lake, Costa Rica’ largest and most breathtaking lake. Paddling these calm waters will give you the opportunity to enjoy the wildlife that surrounds the lake such us monkeys, iguanas and a large number of tropical birds. A snack of fresh local fruit is included.

Today, your English-Speaking Driver will meet you, and will transfer Nosara Beach, Pacific side. Transfer time is approximately 4 hours.

<em>Two</em> full promising days at playa Nosara.

There are many different excursions, and activities with varying degrees of adventure for those who want excitement as well as for those who prefer relaxation instead.

If you like surfing, or would like to improve it, Playa Guiones (about 2 minutes walking distance from Harmony Hotel) is the ideal place to start with.

The hotel offers one yoga class per day, bikes, and surf boards complementary, but if you would like private experiences, you can either schedule one on one yoga sessions at the Harmony’s Heal Centre (focused on yoga, meditation, & wellness) or surfing lessons as many as you would like to.

Your Spanish Speaking Driver will pick you up and will transfer you from Nosara-Hotel Harmony to Liberia, International airport (2.5 hours approximately).
You will be on time at the airport for check in purposes.

<strong>Important Note: </strong>When flying or traveling by boat within Costa Rica a maximum of 30 pounds of luggage is allowed per person.

We’d be happy to assist you with the arrangements of your luggage excess.

  • When the service of a guide is listed (LG) (SG) He/ She will accompany you from A to B. They will meet and greet you on arrival at the International Airport, accompany you on some legs of your trip and then meet you again for your departure transfer. They are all Costa Rican and are happy to share their insight on with you.
  • Porterage: When the tour includes international airport transfers, the handling of two bags per person is included.
